Cinely is a new social platform focused on the filmmaking production community. It aims to become the go-to network in the industry by providing a custom collection of tools for organizing, connecting, and promoting motion picture productions.
As a startup in a crowded landscape, Cinely’s success depended heavily on the quality of its execution. I was brought in to help define the overall design language – working with the existing logo and video player – and fine tune the user experience in order to promote important goals.
The new design provides a stylish and intuitive backdrop for the user-generated content and it also serves to set the mood for and highlight important marketing messages. It presents Cinely as a modern and innovative platform ready to fulfill any professional requirements. User friendly controls and an intuitive layout help strengthen the initial promise and convert new prospects into power users.
As a side-note to the main project, I’ve also designed a simple and effective presentation website for Cinely’s parent company.
It’s a challenge to find a great designer, and even tougher to find someone with deep UI understanding. Lucian brings both to the table.
The elevated growth rate of the site even from its initial stages is proof that the design’s primary goals have been met and the stage has been set for a long-lasting and successful project.
